About the Founder

Engineering Better Tax Outcomes

"Every return is a system — inputs, controls, outputs. We treat it that way, so you keep more of what you earn."

Tax Engineer was founded by a construction engineer who developed a strong interest in numbers, taxation, and financial problem-solving through real-world experiences managing complex financial and tax-related challenges.

What began as personal curiosity quickly turned into a passion for helping individuals and small business owners simplify taxes and make smarter financial decisions. With a structured, analytical engineering mindset and hands-on exposure to tax issues, the founder brings a practical and detail-oriented approach to tax preparation and bookkeeping.

The founder is also an IRS Enrolled Agent, federally authorized to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. This credential reflects a strong command of U.S. tax laws, compliance standards, and professional ethics in taxation.

The goal in building Tax Engineer was simple: to provide affordable, reliable, and transparent tax and accounting services that reduce stress and help clients keep more of what they earn. Clients work directly with someone who understands both the technical precision required in finance and the real-life challenges faced by working professionals and business owners.

FAQ

Answers to common questions

How does remote tax filing actually work?

You'll get an organized checklist and access to our encrypted client portal. Upload your documents securely, we prepare and review, then e-sign and e-file — no in-person meeting required, though we offer video calls anytime.

Who is an Enrolled Agent, and why does it matter?

An EA is a tax professional federally licensed by the U.S. Treasury Department. EAs have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS — including audits, collections, and appeals. It's the highest federal credential for tax practice.

Can you handle IRS notices and audits?

Yes. As an Enrolled Agent firm, IRS representation is a core service. We respond to CP2000s, examinations, collections, installment agreements, and appeals nationwide.

What documents will I need?

It depends on your situation. After your discovery call you'll receive a tailored request list — typically prior-year return, W-2s/1099s, business P&L, and any major life or asset events.

Is pricing transparent?

Yes. Flat-fee engagements starting at the prices shown on our pricing page. After a discovery call we confirm the final quote in writing before any work begins.

Do you serve clients outside Georgia?

Yes. We work with clients throughout the United States. We're based in Gwinnett County, Georgia, but our practice is fully remote-capable.

How secure is your client portal?

Bank-grade encryption in transit and at rest, multi-factor authentication, and audit logging. We never send tax documents over email.

When should I consider an S-Corp election?

Typically when an active business owner has $40K–$60K+ in net profit. We model the savings before recommending — and handle Form 2553, payroll setup, and reasonable compensation.
